Why Photography
Here's the dirty little secret, I am not 'into' photography...seriously, I'm not. I don't get paid to do it, I don't pimp myself out to friends and offer a discount on their wedding photos, I don't push my latest photos down my friends throats at weekends. I do it because..and here comes the story...go grab a beer and come back when you have it...
Ready?? Let's go...
I was lucky enough to go to Hawaii on holiday and while there I found an empty beach....totally empty. On the beach was this lone coconut and I got down on my knees (not easy considering I had sliced my foot open 3 minutes earlier on a piece of plastic hidden in the sand and the combination of blood, sand and sea water was making my testicles shrivel up with pain)..but I got down on my knees regardless and took a picture of this lone coconut in the sand, trying to get the sea and horizon in the background. Here's the pic.

Now, bearing in mind my earlier comment about subjective acceptance of photos...I was disappointed in the result. Don't get me wrong, I love the memories that this instills, but the pic could have turned out better. The reason? not completely of course there is lack of talent from the person taking the photo, but it came down to the camera. Which was my iPhone (for a more detailed explanation of why this sucked, you need to understand about depth of field, but we'll get to that)
As a result of this, when I returned from the holiday I vowed to purchase a decent camera...and so the journey begins....come with me..(do not confuse this with cum with me...totally different blog)
